  2. Employers say that cost is not a barrier to offering dental coverage

Most employers offer dental coverage to their employees because they want healthy—attractive employees working for them. A leading executive at a well known company stated that the reason they offer dental insurance is because “no one wants to hire people that have wooden teeth”. Some companies still do not offer coverage which is shocking. After all, who would want to do business with people that have employees with wooden teeth? When asked if cost is the barrier, most companies polled stated that is was not. When asked their primary reason for not offering health coverage, 37% stated they could afford it but simply chose not to offer it. “A smile is worth $1,000,000” stated one attractive woman at a large company. After she made the comment, she lowered her head and frowned though since she does not work at a company that offers dental insurance. She frowned because she knows that it is only a matter of time before her teeth fall out and get replaced by dull wooden substitutes. “Wooden teeth are poor substitutes for the real thing” screamed one local dentist in an upscale neighborhood. Employees need to take a stand and demand that companies put an end to the wooden teeth. People need to keep their real teeth and good dental insurance can help make this a reality.
